Becoming Her Story
Breaking Ceilings, Raising Frequencies & Building Something Bloody Beautiful
Who am I?
I’m Jaeme Spalding, a mother, leader, survivor, dreamer and passionate advocate for empowering others.
I’m strong, resilient, creative, loving, empathetic, sometimes a little erratic and blessed with a cheeky sense of humour!
My experiences have shaped me, but they don’t define me.
I’m passionate about helping women who’ve walked difficult paths recognise their strength, rediscover their worth and create lives they genuinely love.
As a mother, I want to raise daughters and sons who are kind, respectful, courageous and, above all, genuinely good humans.
I believe in women supporting women, creating opportunities rather than competition and celebrating each other’s successes.
There’s room for all of us. Let’s break ceilings, not each other.
What brought me to this point?
My journey has been anything but conventional.
After ten years of my own domestic and family violence, I relocated to Queensland, determined to create a different life for my children and me, and I refused to be a statistic.
Professionally, I’d built a career in the corporate/not-for-profit human services sector, including mental health, domestic violence, drug and alcohol, disability and aged care, since 2008, progressing through more than eleven roles and management positions.
I was always the dependable one. The leader, the advocate, the person everyone could rely on.
But behind the professional achievements, life was changing dramatically.
In 2023, I lost my best friend, my soulmate, my beautiful mum, to breast cancer.
She was my laughter, my guidance and such an enormous part of my world.
Alongside that grief, I navigated the end of a toxic relationship, became extremely unwell with an autoimmune condition and found myself working in an increasingly toxic environment.
I was exhausted. Physically, emotionally and energetically.
I’d spent years holding everything together, and somewhere along the way, I’d lost myself.
I needed to come home to myself. To nurture my health, my family and my frequency.
I didn’t want to simply survive anymore.
I wanted to flourish.
What changed?
Losing my mum and becoming so unwell made me reassess everything.
I knew I was capable of more, but I needed to find my way back to myself first.
I started looking at my physical health, emotional wellbeing, spiritual connection, relationships, environment and energy.
I wanted to recenter, rebalance and reconnect.
Along the way, I met an absolutely beautiful spiritual and business coach, Kara, who became an incredible part of my transformation.
She helped me find clarity, reconnect with my purpose and recognise the possibilities ahead.
For the first time in a long time, I began believing that I could create something entirely different.
Something meaningful. Something aligned. Something that was genuinely mine.
I wasn’t starting over. I was coming home to myself.
What did I do next?
I started with my mindset.
My first priority was stabilising my nervous system, nurturing my health and becoming conscious of the energy and frequencies I was putting into the world.
I reassessed my circle, established boundaries and started choosing environments that supported my wellbeing.
I wanted to surround myself with people whose energy, values and aspirations aligned with mine.
Through my own search for physical and nervous system support, I discovered lymphatic drainage massage and holistic treatments.
I connected so deeply with these approaches that I trained professionally to offer them to others.
And that’s when I truly felt alignment.
I brought JDeez Beauty to life.
Suddenly, my personal journey, professional experience and passion for helping others had found their place together.
And bloody hell, what a journey it’s been!
Where am I heading?
I’m breaking ceilings and building something bigger than I ever imagined.
Within twelve weeks of launching JDeez Beauty, I welcomed nearly 70 beautiful clients. Within sixteen weeks, I was preparing to take my business on the road, with clients booked along the way to Victoria.
JDeez Beauty has become a space for much more than beauty.
I offer Brazilian lymphatic drainage massage for the body and face, manual lymphatic massage, lymphatic facial treatments, body sculpting, radiofrequency skin tightening, healthy breast massage and scar tissue massage.
My treatments are thoughtfully curated with personally created calming scents, customised frequencies and an emphasis on relaxation, nervous system support, body confidence and overall wellbeing.
I love watching someone walk into my studio carrying the weight of the world and leave feeling lighter, nurtured and genuinely good about themselves.
I’m also undertaking international education and mentorship through The Mastectomy Guide, specialising in breast, chest and oncology massage, including mastectomy and gender-affirming surgical care.
This is deeply personal.
My mum’s breast cancer journey inspires my vision to bring more specialised, compassionate, trauma-informed support into Australian communities.
I dream of collaborating with healthcare professionals, cancer support organisations and other practitioners, eventually developing an academy offering education, workshops, mentorship and coaching.
I also want to create beautiful retreats where people can simply rest, receive and be poured into.
Where nobody needs anything from them.
Where they can reconnect with themselves without guilt or expectation.
Because sometimes we all deserve to feel really fucking good again!
What is my bigger vision?
Authenticity. Freedom. Love. Connection.
A life surrounded by genuine friendships, aligned people and a beautiful, supportive community.
I want to travel, learn, grow and create meaningful experiences without sacrificing my health, happiness or family.
I want my work to bring me purpose and energy rather than constantly demanding more than I have to give.
And I want to raise little humans who understand that life can be extraordinary, even through heartbreak and adversity.
That success isn’t simply measured by money, titles or achievements, but by love, freedom, purpose and the connections we nurture.
I want my children to see that even after life’s darkest chapters, we can create something extraordinarily beautiful.
What have I learned?
I’ve learned that love, alignment, purpose and boundaries can change everything.
That we sometimes repeat patterns until we recognise our worth and understand that we deserve respect.
And importantly, you don’t have to work yourself into the ground to be valued.
When something genuinely aligns with your purpose, it becomes more fulfilling.
Your energy changes. Your frequency rises.
You start attracting and connecting with people who share your values and genuinely want to see you succeed.
I’ve learned to protect my peace, maintain my boundaries and trust the process.
Who is the woman I’m becoming?
She’s strong, resilient, creative, loving, empathetic and powerful.
She’s humorous, a little erratic and occasionally crazy!
She’s an empowerer, a guide, a leader and a mum.
She’s learning that strength and softness can coexist. That she can be ambitious while embracing rest, independent while welcoming support and successful without sacrificing herself.
She’s authentic, passionate and no longer interested in shrinking herself to make others comfortable.
She’s not becoming someone different. She’s becoming more of herself.
And she’s having a bloody good time discovering what’s possible!
What legacy do I want to leave?
My legacy is to actually leave a legacy. And I ain’t playing small anymore.
I want to empower women, particularly my daughter, to recognise their strength, understand their worth and create lives they genuinely love.
And I want to honour my beautiful mum.
Before she passed, she helped establish a breast cancer foundation that has since opened and secured funding for allied health services. There’s even a room dedicated to her memory.
I wish I’d known then what I know now about specialised massage and supportive care.
Even if I could have helped ease some of her symptoms or simply made her more comfortable.
I can’t change her journey, but I can use what I’ve learned to support others.
I want to create safe spaces where women feel heard, supported, confident and comfortable in themselves again.
Not to rescue them or make them dependent on me, but to empower them with knowledge, confidence and resources.
Sometimes, it’s simply about holding space for someone to feel safe in their story.
I want to carry my mum’s love forward through meaningful work that extends far beyond me.
What would I say to another woman?
Start with you.
Start with your children, your health and the things you can change.
Just take one step.
You don’t need everything figured out.
Choose yourself. Establish boundaries. Surround yourself with people who encourage, inspire and empower you.
Be conscious of your energy and the life you’re creating.
And most importantly, be the change you want to see in others.
Too many women tear each other down when we should be lifting each other up.
Celebrate her success. Encourage her growth. Hold space for her story.
Because another woman’s light doesn’t dim your own.
There’s room for all of us to shine.
MY FINAL REFLECTION
Becoming Her isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about coming home to myself.
Honouring the woman who survived, embracing the woman I am and celebrating the woman I’m still becoming.
I’ve experienced violence, grief, illness, heartbreak and moments where I completely lost my direction.
But I’ve also discovered love, resilience, purpose, beautiful connections and the power of choosing myself.
What began as my own journey of reconnecting with my health, my family and my frequency has blossomed into something bigger than I ever imagined.
I’m building a life that honours my mum, inspires my children and creates spaces where others feel empowered, supported and genuinely good about themselves.
I want to leave a legacy of love, compassion, education and connection.
I’m still a little crazy, occasionally chaotic, full of love and unapologetically myself.
I’m not playing small anymore.
If there’s one thing I’d love another woman to take from my story, it’s this:
Start with you.
Take one step.
Protect your peace. Raise your frequency. Choose love.
And be the change you want to see in others.
Let’s break ceilings, not each other.
I’m not becoming a different woman.
I’m becoming more of myself.
And this beautiful, messy, exciting journey?
I’m only just getting started.
Here’s to Becoming Her — and empowering a whole lot of incredible women along the way.
