About
I realised I wasn't finished either.
I'm Nikki Louise Taylor, entrepreneur, career coach, wife, mother of two adult sons and stepmum to a stepson and stepdaughter. I'm also very proudly Ninny to three beautiful grandchildren and step-Ninny to four more.
My life and career have definitely not followed a straight line.
I've worked in office administration, trained and worked as a hairdresser, been a property manager and spent three years working as a temp in another country while raising my two boys, who were just seven and nine when that chapter began.
Eventually, I found my way into recruitment and something clicked. That career grew into building and running my own businesses in New Zealand and Australia and, ultimately, into the work I do today.
I now lead a large team with my husband also my besty across both countries delivering career transition, outplacement and coaching services. For more than 20 years, I've worked alongside people facing redundancy, career change, uncertainty and that enormous question:
What now?
But behind the businesses and career, there's another story. I've had multiple shoulder surgeries, 15 years of endometriosis and spent far too much of my life believing being strong meant simply pushing through.
I rarely stopped. I rarely took time off. After each shoulder or Endometriosis surgery, i was back at work immediately. I've built businesses, raised a family, started again, made mistakes, learnt some big lessons and kept going.
Looking back, I now understand that strength isn't always about pushing harder. Sometimes strength is stopping long enough to listen to yourself and ask:
What do I want now?
Women's stories have always mattered to me.
In 2017, I created and launched my first book hard copy, BE INSPIRED, bringing together the stories of 50 incredible women from around the world. It reinforced something I've seen throughout my life and career:
Every woman has a story worth telling.
Not just the polished success story. The messy middle. The wrong turns. The fear. The loss. The courage. The reinvention. The times we wonder whether we've left it too late and the moments we decide to begin again anyway.
And now I'm asking some of those questions myself. Because I realised I wasn't finished either.
I have a business I love, a wonderful family, a large team across two countries and a life I'm incredibly grateful for. But I still have ideas. I still want to grow. I still want to create, explore, take chances and see what's possible.
And that's why I created Becoming Her. Not because I have everything figured out. I don't. I'm creating it because I'm still becoming too.
Becoming Her is a place for women to share real stories, connect, rediscover parts of themselves and explore what might come next. Because I don't believe there is an age when we're supposed to stop dreaming, changing, creating or beginning again.
Becoming Her isn't about becoming someone else.
It's about having the courage to keep discovering who you are — and who you might still become. And I'll be right here, becoming alongside you.
Who you are becoming is more important than who you've been.
